The Academy Awards

I was so amazed at the beauty of the night at the Oscars. The only reason why I watch awards shows is to see the fashion trends and the latest styles. I have to be aware of the looks and trends, because customers want to know how to achieve the looks of the stars. I noticed especially Penelope Cruz, Beyonce, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Hudson's makeup. They all had a different look to best compliment their own personalities and facial structures. That is really what makeup is all about enhancing your beauty. Below I will share how to achieve certain looks..

(Jennifer Lopez)
Cameron Diaz

Cameron is looking to achieve a very glowing, soulful effect. Her look is all about defining the eyes and a glowing luminance. You can achieve this look by using MAC's new Mineralize SatinFinish Foundations, MAC gloss on the cheeks, chin and Mineralize Skinfinish as a highlighter. Place Romp eyeshadow on the eyelids with Smolder Eye Kohl rimming the eye. Use Zoomblack Mascara with #4 lashes. Use Refined Golden bronzer and finish the look with Viva Glam V lipstick and Lipglass.

Jennifer Hudson

Apply Bronze and Retrospeck Eye shadows to your eyelid with Embark eyeshadow throughout the crease in "winged out effect". Use Bootblack liquid liner and Loud Lash Mascara. Use Raizin blush on your cheeks. Use Chestnut Lip liner and Viva Glam VI Lipstick with Happening Gal Lipglass!

MAC AIDS Fund for Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

(Eve, Debbie Harry, Lisa Marie Presley and Dita Von Teese are the newest spokesmodels for Viva Glam VI)

The MAC AIDS Fund is the heart and soul of MAC Cosmetics. Its purpose is to provide necessities to people surviving with HIV/AIDS. MAC believes since HIV/AIDS has an abundance of money going into research, they want to give to those who are suffering now. The MAC AIDS Fund has raised over 86 million dollars. Programs such as Viva Glam benefit the fund. One hundred percent of the retail selling cost ($14) goes to the MAC AIDS Fund. There are six lipsticks and two Lipglass formulas. Click here to see the collection! What stands out the most about the company is its recognition of how influential our fashion industry is on society. With every launch, MAC selects spokespeople for the collection. The spokespeople are carefully selected and cater to a variety of audiences.

The MAC AIDS Fund is constantly participating in events for HIV/AIDS awareness. February 7, was Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Research shows that the disease is growing among Blacks in the United States. The MAC AIDS Fund sponsored the 2nd Annual It’s All About M.E.E.! (Mobilization, Education & Empowerment) Sistahs Getting Real About HIV conference. The conference is from February 7-11 in California. The National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCNW), National Council of Negro Women and the Black AIDS Institure are its hosts. Read more here.

Mineralize Satin Finish SPF15

On Thursday, MAC did it again! They launched a mineralized liquid makeup along with the powder that it launched a few times in limited quantities. MAC is keeping up with the trend of mineralized makeup. As an artist, I get a lot customers who come and ask for Bare Essentials products. I'm so thrilled that the company can compete with this new trend.
